Do you like Laksa ? Laksa is an iconic Malaysian coconut curry soup with rich, fragrant, and flavoured broth. I always wanted to try making Laksa but felt it’s not an easy job as it requires a lot of spices and ingredients from scratch. However, when I saw Marion’s Kitchen simply using Thai red…
Shogayaki / Japanese Grilled Pork with Ginger Sauce
When I firstly used Waitrose thinly sliced bacon for hot pot, I was also thinking to use it for making this Japanese popular home cooking dish : Shogayaki ‘’Shoga’’ means ginger and ‘’Yaki’’ means grill in Japanese, this dish generally refers to paper thin sliced pork so these thinly sliced bacon I got…
To Makeover My Leftover : Slippery Eggs with Lamb Over Rice
I cooked Waitrose Slow Cooked Lamb Shanks for a Sunday Roast last week but to be honestly I don’t think it tasted amazingly good. The portion was just too much for me, I saved the leftover in the fridge and I’ve decided to turn it into a total different dish : Cantonese style slippery eggs with…
Teriyaki Mushrooms
I know Teriyaki sauce can be used for seasoning or marinade with meat, seafood, tofu, and vegetables but I never thought of using it with mushrooms as a meatless option until I saw Liza from Woksofveggies just made it recently ! Adapted from Woksofveggies and also Omnivorescookbook recipes, here is how I make it…
Taiwanese San Bei Ji / Three Cup Chicken
Taiwanese San Bei Ji (三杯雞), or Three Cup Chicken is one of the most classic Taiwanese homey recipes that my mum would usually make at home. For those people who don’t understand Mandarin may not have clue what does ‘’Three Cup’’ mean ? The name ‘’Three Cup’’ actually refers to the equal parts of…
Spicy Garlic Butter Prawn Spaghtti
I know spaghetti is Italian’s thing but do you know it also goes well with soy sauce ? Have seen this dish from @marionskitchen at Youtube, I knew it would be delicious and I absolutely love it when I tried out. Inspired and adapted from Marion’s original recipe, here is how I made it :…
Suan La Fen / Hot & Sour Noodles Soup
Suan La Fen (酸辣粉) is famous Szechuan-style hot and sour noodles soup that consists of spicy, sour, and umami flavours along with noodles and different ingredients. Before I always had instant noodles version, but it turns out making Suan La Fen at home is not as difficult as you thought. 𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞…
Japchae / Korean Glass Noodles Stir Fry
Japchae (or Chapchae/잡채) is one of my must order dishes when eating at Korean restaurants. (another one is sea food pancake!) I love the chewy texture of Korean style glass noodles and the taste with various ingredients (meat, vegetables, eggs…). Have heard Japchae is Korean classic dish particularly for festive days or special occasions,…
Taiwanese Zha Jiang Mian / Soybean Paste Noodles
Zha Jiang Mian (炸醬麵), aka soybean paste noodles, is actually a very common street food in Taiwan. You may notice Korean ‘’Jajangmyeon’’ sounds quite like Mandarin Chinese ‘’Zha Jiang Mian’’ as Jajangmyeon originated from Chinese dish but then was transformed to Korean style noodles. Same in Taiwan, Zha Jiang Mian is a Northern Chinese…
Greenland Day 5 // The last day in Kangerlussuaq
