Paris Hotel Review: Hôtel Les Deux Gares

Hotel + Paris + Staycation + Travel

During my recent solo trip to Paris in early January, I wanted a hotel that was convenient, comfortable, and well-priced. Since I was arriving by Eurostar, staying near Gare du Nord made perfect sense. After researching various options, I came across Hôtel Les Deux Gares, a design-forward boutique hotel just a short walk from the station.

The price was also quite reasonable—I booked a Standard Single Room with a Queen-Size Bed directly from their website for €108 per night (around £90). Considering Paris hotel prices and how much more expensive London accommodations can be, this was a great deal! (Do note there’s an additional city tax of €8.45, payable at the hotel.)

Location

The hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from Gare du Nord, making it an ideal choice for Eurostar travellers. Gare de l’Est is also nearby, providing easy access to other parts of Paris. Initially, I was concerned about train noise, but my room was surprisingly quiet at night. The location is super convenient—you can easily explore different Parisian neighbourhoods and attractions without hassle.

Room & Amenities

The moment I stepped into my room, I fell in love with its vintage-meets-modern aesthetic. The bold colours, playful patterns, and charming Parisian decor made the space feel cozy yet stylish. And I was surprised that I had a balcony! (Unfortunately, it was raining during my stay, but I can imagine how lovely it would be in better weather.)

My room at Hôtel Les Deux Gares was a delightful mix of comfort and style. The queen-size bed was cozy, making it a perfect retreat after a day of exploring Paris. While the TV wasn’t a smart TV, it still provided some options. The mini bar was well-stocked and included a Nespresso machine, along with a kettle, though you need to request the kettle before your arrival. A small table and chair were thoughtfully placed, creating a comfortable spot to sit, relax, or enjoy a quick meal. One of the pleasant surprises was the complimentary bathrobe and slippers, adding a touch of luxury to my stay. The bathroom itself was quite compact, with the toilet and sink positioned closely together, which made space a bit tight when the door was closed. However, the shower area was spacious, providing a comfortable experience. They also provided luxurious Diptyque bath products, an elegant touch that I truly appreciated. If you need additional essentials like a toothbrush kit or sewing kit, these can be requested from the reception.

Hotel Facilities

One of the most unique aspects of Hôtel Les Deux Gares is its stylish basement gym and sauna. The gym is decorated with vibrant floral wallpaper, giving it a retro-chic vibe that makes even the workout equipment look vintage! The sauna requires advance booking at reception, but it’s a great perk if you want to relax after a long day of exploring.

Breakfast & Dining

The hotel offers breakfast, though I’m not sure about the exact price. That said, since Paris is full of amazing bakeries, I personally skipped the hotel breakfast and opted for freshly baked croissants from local boulangeries instead. But if you do choose to have breakfast here, the dining area looks charming and inviting.

Final Thoughts

I was extremely happy with my stay at Hôtel Les Deux Gares and would highly recommend it—especially if you’re traveling via Eurostar and want a stylish yet budget-friendly boutique hotel near Gare du Nord.

One concern many travellers have is safety around Gare du Nord. While the area does have mixed reviews, I personally never felt unsafe. Like any major station (think St. Pancras or Paddington in London), it’s busy and diverse, but staying aware of your surroundings is key no matter where you are.

Would I stay here again? 100% yes! This charming boutique hotel perfectly blends Parisian elegance with a touch of vintage quirkiness, making it an ideal choice in the heart of Paris.

Have you stayed at Hôtel Les Deux Gares? I would love to know your thoughts about it!
