- 1 pack of udon noodles (or any Asian noodles of your choice)
- Spring onion and sesame seeds for garnish
- 1 onsen egg (optional)
SOUP BASE BLEND
- 1 tbsp gochugaru (Korean chilli powder)
- 1 tbsp finely chopped garlic
- 1 tbsp finely sliced spring onion
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp dashipowder (or MSG)
- 2-3 tbsp oil for sizzling
In a large heatproof bowl, combine gochugaru, garlic, and spring onion. Heat 2-3 tbsp oil until shimmering, then pour over the mixture.
Add soy sauce, sugar, and dashi powder to the mixture and stir well.
Cook the udon noodles in boiling water as per instructions.
Add some noodles cooking water to the gochugaru mixture and mix well.
Transfer cooked noodles to the bowl, top with onsen egg (optional), spring onions, and sesame seeds. Enjoy!
